We Attended the Annual ACL Conference in Florence
We are excited to have one of our very own machine learning (ML) engineers, Hichem Mezaoui, present a poster at the annual meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL). This year, the conference was held between July 28th and August 2nd in Florence. This conference, covering a broad spectrum of computational linguistic research is one of the leading hubs for innovation where leading researchers in the field come together to discuss and present the latest in computational approaches to natural language processing.
Not only has our work be presented in poster form at the conference, but the accompanying paper, written in collaboration with our other ML engineers here at IMRSV, Isuru Gunasekara and Aleksandr Gontcharov, has been accepted to be published in the journal’s next issue. Their work, entitled “Enhancing PIO Detection in Medical text Using Contextualized Embedding,” discusses the way they curated their own labeled dataset for PIO (Population, Intervention and Outcome) sentences, and advanced the accuracy of sentence classification to a new state-of-the-art in this domain. More details about our approach will be disclosed once the paper has been published.
We at IMRSV are devoted to innovation as it allows us to provide cutting edge solutions for our clients. There is rarely a “one size fits all” solution to every business challenge, especially in AI. To achieve the best results, we create algorithms that improve on already existing technology allowing for our solutions to be best suited for our clients needs.
